Purchase of Goods
All goods sold by Dressing-Up-Box Ltd are done so strictly in accordance with the law.
Price
All our prices are inclusive, including VAT where applicable, with only the addition of postage & packing. Prices are correct at time of publication (E&OE). We reserve the right to change, alter or amend any price without notice. We are not obliged to refund the difference if an item is reduced from the original price and if an item increases in price we are not obliged to sell at the previous lower price.
VAT
As a general guide VAT is applied to:
- Adult Clothing, Accessories, Toys & Games, Postage & Packing
VAT is not applied to:
- Child Clothing and Books.
- HMCE class Robes ie. Child Capes as accessories and therefore are subject to VAT.
Payment Methods
We accept payment by debit, credit postal order or cheque.
All major credit or debit cards (as listed) are accepted by Royal Bank of Scotland’s World Pay for secure online payments.
We accept payment via Telephone for debit and credit cards. Personal and Company cheques are welcome and as are Postal Orders.
Schools, Local Authorities and Businesses may apply (subject to status) for trade accounts.
No orders will be shipped until paid for in full or is accepted on a Business Account or Pro Forma Invoice with your official order.
All Cheques and Postal orders should be made payable to Dressingupbox Ltd.
Credit Card Security
No credit or debit card or similar information is held by Dressingupbox Ltd as all transactions are concluded via Royal Bank of Scotland’s World Pay. Please notice that during checkout you will be using World Pay secure servers to complete your orders. No card details are held by the Dressingupbox SQL Server.
Stock Availability
Dressingupbox Ltd will endeavor to make sure that as many items as possible are available. However, on the rare occasion when we are unable to fulfill your order due to high demand, we will do our utmost to source an alternative product. Should this be necessary we will always notify you first to gain your agreement. Packaging may vary on items sourced from our alternative suppliers. We will be happy to pay for the return of any alternative item supplied that you are not fully happy with, provided you stay within these terms and conditions.

Orders
Please ensure you fill in a contact telephone number and a valid e-mail address, these are vital should we need to contact you for any reason regards your order.
We encourage you to place an “event date” at the checkout and we will make every effort to accommodate this. However, we will not be bound this. Should you not allow sufficient time to receive your order, we will contact you for a postage upgrade (if applicable) or we will exercise our right to cancel your order. We will always notify you in any such case.
Back Orders
If some elements of your order are temporarily out of stock, depending on original order size, we may ship the “in stock items” and send the remaining item(s) at a later date, at no extra cost to you. We will always advise you via e-mail if this is the case. You may cancel this order if you would rather not wait.
Order Cancellation – Before Shipping
If you wish to cancel all or part of your order before it is shipped, please do so immediately via Telephone, e-mail or Fax. You will be notified by e-mail to confirm your cancellation.
Order Cancellation – After Shipping
Your order maybe cancelled up to 7 working days from receipt of your purchase. You must return the goods unopened and unused for a refund. (Please refer to our Returns Policy section).
Returns – Order Cancellation (Overview)
In the case of goods (your order), the cooling-off period ends seven working days after the day the goods are received. Customers must inform us in writing - by letter, fax or email returns@dressingupbox.com - of their decision to cancel. You will be reimbursed as soon as possible - and in any case within a maximum period of 30 days. You as the customer pay the postage to return the goods if unwanted and no refund of any postage will be paid. All items must be received back within 7 working from receipt of goods.
However, there are some exceptions to the right to cancel. Customers cannot cancel if the contract is for:
- Goods made to the customer's specification
- Wigs that are not supplied in sealed packaging, or packaging that has been opened, may not be returned for reasons of hygiene.
Returns – Order Cancellation (Detail)
Before returning any orders to us, please contact us at returns@dressingupbox.com for a returns number. You will be asked the reason for return and whether you would like a refund or exchange. When contacting us by telephone for returns, please have your invoice number ready. Please make a note of the Returns number you are given as failure to write this on this outside of the returned parcel will delay the refund process.
Returns – Order Cancellation (Detail)
Please make a note of the following points regards this type of return.
- Any items for return must be received back in its original condition as shipped to you. The item must not have been used and be in a suitable condition for resale. All original packaging must accompany any returned items. We cannot accept items that have been opened from a sealed package. (Costumes are generally supplied in non sealed packages so you can easily try these for size.) All items are checked upon return to us before refund or credit notes are issued.
- You are responsible for any returned goods until they reach us. Cost and risk of return will be at your expense and we recommend that you obtain proof of return. If the items are of a high value, Royal Mail Special delivery is a suggested method.
- We cannot refund outbound shipping, packaging or insurance. Regards exchanges, you maybe asked for a contribution towards any additional postage costs depending upon which shipping method you require.
- Refunds are made usually within 7 working days upon receipt of the goods. However, outside of this all refunds will be processed within 30 calendar days of receipt.
- Please return all goods to: Dressingupbox Ltd, Unit 18, Bridge Rd Trading Estate, Kingswood, Bristol BS15 4PT and include your RA* number on the outside of the package. *(Returns Authorization)
- All items returned to us must have an RA* number *(returns authorization). Any items that are received back without this RA will not be exchanged or Refunded and will be held pending your instruction. All items will be held for 3 months after which they will be destroyed.
- We are unable to exchange or send out any replacement items until the original order is received back at Dressingupbox Ltd. If a replacement item is required quickly, you will need to place another order and return the original order at a later date.
- We will not be obliged to refund or exchange any items returned and received after 30 calendar days. If you wish the item to be returned to you, a small postage fee will be required.
Returns – Faulty Goods
If an item you have ordered is faulty, you must contact us immediately; we will happily refund or exchange it for you. Contact us as soon as possible by e-mail, returns@dressingupbox.com Fax or Telephone within 7 calendar days from the date of delivery, or if the fault was not apparent upon first inspection, return no later than 30 calendar days after receipt of your order.
You must contact us before making any returns to obtain an RA number. Please have to hand your invoice number, and be ready to give your Name, Postcode and reason for return. Please write the RA number on the outside of the pack/box in order to avoid delay with the refund/exchange process.
Please note the following:
- You are responsible for the initial cost and risk of the Faulty goods return, until they reach us. We recommend that you obtain proof of postage when making your return. If the items are of a high value, Royal Mail Special delivery is a suggested method. Once the goods have been received at Dressingupbox Ltd, Unit 18, Bridge Rd Trading Estate, Kingswood, Bristol BS15 4PT, we will refund your postage costs.
- We shall not bear any liability from any fault developed from fair wear and tear, abnormal working conditions, negligence, willful damage, misuse or alteration made to the goods without our permission.
- Please return the goods to: Dressingupbox Ltd, Unit 18, Bridge Rd Trading Estate, Kingswood, Bristol BS15 4TA, please make sure the RA number is clearly visible on the outside of the return.
- Any returns made outside of our Terms & Conditions, will not be accepted for refund or exchange. We will state the reason for refusal to you. We are happy to ship back to you any items returned if requested, or failing this, we will be hold them for 3 months pending your instructions, after which time they will be destroyed.
- We are unable to replace or refund any faulty items until the original order is received back at Dressingupbox Ltd.
Product Images
Images displayed at dressingupboxonline.co.uk are used with the permission granted by the copyright holder. Dressingupbox Ltd will make every effort to maintain clear descriptions and use the “current” images available that represent the items displayed for purchase.
However Dressingupbox Ltd cannot be held responsible for 1. Any perception you may have in product representation and 2. The manufacturer’s obligation of a right to change product specification including colour or design at any time and without notice.
Please note that some colours may alter slightly from what you see on the screen to the product you receive, depending on your monitor screen resolution and colour/display settings.
Our site when viewed can look different on different PC’s using different browsers and having different colour and screen resolution settings.
Complaints Policy
Should you have any cause for complaint, please contact us immediately, and we will do our utmost to rectify your problem.
Privacy Policy
We want to protect your privacy. Therefore, we will only use any personal information collected in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. The information we collect is for the purpose of processing your order quickly and efficiently, and to provide you with the best possible service. We will not pass your personal details to any third party, and we do not store your credit/debit card numbers. These are only used by WorldPay to authorise each transaction.
General
By submitting an order, you are accepting the Terms & Conditions of Dressingupbox Ltd.
Dressingupbox Ltd reserves the right to decline, reject or similarly cancel any order or part order without notice and refund any payment made in full.
Working day means every day of a calendar year apart from weekends and statutory Public Holidays.
No Images or text can be reproduced from this site without permission from Dressingupbox Ltd.
